Lehman Optronics becomes a founding member of Guangdong Micro-LED Microdisplay Industry Technology Innovation Alliance

On 25^th of April 2018, Guangdong Province Micro-LED Micro-Display Industrial Technology Innovation Alliance held the First Session of the first alliance conference at The Shenzhen Donghai Langham Hotel. Ledman Optoelectronic Co., Ltd attended the conference as a founding member and received the award.

Guangdong Province Micro-LED Micro-Display Industrial Technology Innovation Alliance (hereinafter referred to as "Alliance") is composed of the related Leading Companies in the Guangdong Province Micro-LED Technology Industry, Leading Universities, and Research Institutes. The founding units include: Southern University of Science and Technology, Sun Yat-Sen University, Jinan University, Shenzhen University, TCL Group, Nationstar Semiconductor, Lehman Optoelectronic Co., Ltd, Unilumin Technology, Guangdong Province Semiconductor Technology Research Institute, and Guangdong Province Semiconductor Lighting Industry Co-innovation Center etc. The aim of the alliance is to integrate innovation resources at home and abroad from Universities, Scientific Research Institutes, and Companies to achieve the convergence and optimal allocation of innovation resources. Working together to commit to breaking through the technical bottlenecks of Micro-LED technology innovation and Industrial Application Development and improving the overall level of Micro-LED technology.

Micro-LED technology consists of a large number of Micro-LED, in addition to achieving high brightness, ultra-high resolution and a higher color gamut, each pixel can be driven independently, as well as the advantages of power consumption saving and fast response. Micro-LED technology can be regarded as the ultimate development of COB display technology, and it is also considered to be the next generation of semiconductor high-definition display technology. Micro-LED technology is currently highly sought after by both inside and outside of the Industry, but it will take a while before the production of meaningful products due to its technical bottlenecks. Based upon the market demand for small-pitch display products, COB LED, with the same homologous as Micro-LED, has already been under mass production to meet market demand.

Lehman's latest generation of COB display technology adopts a completely different technology route from that of SMD discrete device display products, by integrating LED light-emitting chips etc., on a special substrate, achieving smaller pixel pitch that the SMD discrete device display product can not make. The minimum pixel pitch COB display can be P0.5. The COB technology integrates upstream chip technology, mid-stream packaging technology and downstream display technology. The widespread promotion of COB technology and the realization of large-scale applications requires the close cooperation of upstream, mid-stream, and downstream companies. Based on the 14-year history of accumulation of LED integrated midstream packaging and downstream display technologies, technologies, patents and teams, Ledman took the lead in realizing breakthroughs focusing on 2.0mm to 0.5mm pixel pitch HD displays. Ledman COB small-pitch display panels have been mass-produced in March of this year and will be used as a company strategic development focus. At present, Ledman has obtained orders for hundreds of millions of COB products in hand, and recently signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Beijing Huaru Technology Co., Ltd. to jointly increase the company's COB product promotion in the military industry area. In the capital market, Lehman Optoelectronic Co., Ltd has launched non-public offering of stocks and overweight COB ultra-small pitch LED display panel projects.

The establishment of the Alliance will play an active role in integrating the resource advantages of the Industrial chain and promoting the technological breakthrough and result transformation on Micro-LED. Ledman Optoelectronic Co., Ltd is leading in COB display technology. To ensure the superiority of the company's high-definition display technology, Ledman will make full use of the Alliance's platform and resources to carry out research work on Micro-pitch technology in order to make achievements in next-generation semiconductor high-definition display technology.
