The Award Ceremony of the Sixth Martin Scholarships and Grants in Lian yuan the No. 1Middle School

Here comes the beautiful September, and students started their new semester with dreams and hopes. The award ceremony of the Sixth Martin Scholarships and Grants was successfully held on 19^th September in the No. 1 Middle School in Lianyuan, Hunan Province (shortened as Lianyuan Middle School). 120 students were funded by a total of 144,100 Yuan, with 30 model students (excellent students) gaining scholarships, and 80 poor students getting grants.

It is reported that the Martin Scholarships and Grants is set by Mr. Martin Li, the chairman of Ledman Optoelectronic Co., Ltd, who is one of the outstanding alumni of Lianyuan Middle School. The fund aims to encourage those who do a great job in study and to support those students who have distressing problems in life. Furthermore, the figures show that in recent 6 years since its establishment with an amount of 744,100 Yuan, there are 720 students benefiting from it, over 120 students are admitted by famous universities in China with a distinguished grades in college entrance examination, while 180 more students are also admitted by other universities.

As one of Class 180 representative alumni in Lianyuan, Mr. Martin Li keeps faithful and carries out actual deeds after graduation for many years, he successively set up Martin Scholarships, Martin Grants, and Martin Teacher Gardener Award in Lianyuan Middle School. In April, 2012, Mr. Martin announced to set the fund and promised to donate 120,000 Yuan every year to encourage and assist those needed students. Mr. Martin also invited excellent teachers and students to visit Shenzhen since 2013. Moreover, in August 2013, when Lianyuan Middle School undertook to hold the track and field events for all the middle students in Hunan Province, Mr. Martin contributed to install a LED display worth of 500,000 Yuan in order to support the advertising campaign of Lianyuan Middle School. Besides, started from 2014, Mr. Martin Li set up Martin Teacher Gardener Award to reward the outstanding teachers, with an amount of 120,000 Yuan each year. To sum up, Mr. Martin has donated more than 2,834,100 Yuan in Lianyuan Middle School for the last 6 years.
